iPhone Fold Likely to Debut in 2026, But iPad Fold May Be a Long Shot

iPhone Fold in 2026: Probable, but iPad Fold Doubtful
According to analyst Jeff Pu, Apple is set to release a foldable iPhone and iPad by the end of 2026. The proposed devices include a 7.8-inch iPhone Fold and an 18.8-inch iPad Fold, both expected to enter mass production in Q4 2026. However, the timing for the iPad Fold is questionable.
Pu's claims about the iPhone Fold align with other industry analysts like Ming-Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman, who have suggested a late 2026 release for a foldable iPhone. Conversely, the timeline for the iPad Fold contradicts earlier predictions from Kuo, Ross Young, and Gurman, who believe a foldable iPad won't be available until 2027 or later.
Given the larger size and technical challenges of producing a foldable display for an iPad, it is more plausible that Apple would take additional time to perfect the device. While Pu has been prolific in sharing rumors about Apple's future products, his aggressive schedules have not always proven accurate.
