iPhone Fold: Will Apple's Foldable Device Finally Unfold in 2026?

Rumors persist that Apple's highly-anticipated foldable iPhone, rumored to be called the 'iPhone Fold,' could launch as early as next year, 2026, with a design resembling Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold.

iPhone Fold Reaffirmed for 2026 Launch

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg predicts the launch of Apple's foldable smartphone, potentially named 'iPhone Fold,' in 2026. The device is expected to feature a book-style design similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series, with a large internal folding screen and an external display. It may incorporate many technologies from the iPhone 17 Air, including a Camera Control button, a single 48MP camera, and advanced battery changes for a thinner profile. The device is also rumored to include Apple's C1 modem.

The 2026 launch aligns with previous forecasts by analysts like Jeff Pu and Ming-Chi Kuo, who suggested a late 2026 or early 2027 release. Despite these consistent predictions, the actual launch date remains uncertain as it is subject to Apple's development timeline.

Other rumors suggest that Apple’s first folding device might be an iPad or MacBook Pro, potentially launching in 2027 or later.
