Kindle App Simplifies Book Buying on iPhone and iPad with New 'Get Book' Feature
Kindle’s iOS App Enhances Book Buying Process
Recent changes in the App Store rules, due to a court order that Apple has appealed, have significantly improved the user experience for purchasing books on the Kindle app for iPhone and iPad. Previously, due to restrictions on external links and in-app purchases, users had to browse and buy titles separately in their web browser before they could be accessed within the Kindle app.
Now, a new 'Get Book' button has been added next to each listed title in the Kindle app. Tapping this button redirects users directly to the book's Amazon listing in their preferred web browser, where they can purchase the title using Amazon’s ‘1-Click’ feature and return seamlessly to the Kindle app.
While the process is not as seamless as a full in-app purchase, it represents a significant improvement. The change is seen as strong evidence that the modified App Store rules are enhancing user experiences, although the future of these rules remains uncertain due to Apple’s ongoing appeal.
