LG TVs to Lose Google Assistant Integration Starting May 1, 2025

LG TVs are set to lose Google Assistant functionality starting May 1, 2025, but voice controls will still be available through LG's built-in service.

LG TVs Losing Google Assistant Integration by May 1, 2025

LG has announced that the Google Assistant will no longer be available on existing LG smart TVs starting from May 1, 2025. Currently, users can access the Google Assistant by linking their account and using the microphone button on the remote control. While basic voice controls will still be functional through LG's built-in service, this change might affect integration with Google Home systems and any automation routines set up via the Google Account.

LG recommends removing the ThinQ app from devices to avoid potential issues when the service terminates. Despite this change, other Google apps on the TV should remain unaffected. Users are advised to check their Google Account 'Connections' page to ensure smooth operation of their smart home setup.
