M4 Mac mini: Balancing Design Compromises for the Perfect Compact Computer

Apple's M4 Mac mini could have been even smaller but design compromises had to be made. The need for better cooling and acoustics, as well the inclusion of an M4 Pro variant led to a bigger size than initially envisioned.

The front-facing ports were modelled on the success of the Mac Studio, and were added due to user feedback about accessibility.

The new design also incorporates environmental innovation, with it being the first carbon-neutral Mac.
