M4 Mac users face compatibility issues with ultrawide monitors
Users of the new M4 Macs have reported compatibility issues with ultrawide monitors, specifically those with a resolution of 5K2K (5120 x 2160). These users say that their M4 Mac, either a Mac mini or MacBook Pro variant, does not display proper resolution options for these monitors. This makes the interface and text appear blurry on these ultrawide screens. The monitors continue to work fine with older Macs. \n\nThird-party solutions like BetterDisplay can enable HiDPI, but introduce other issues such as lowering refresh rate from 75Hz to 60Hz. At the time of writing Apple has yet to acknowledge this problem.
