MacBook Air Supplies Thinning Out: M4 Refresh Looms on the Horizon

MacBook Air Stocks Dwindle Ahead of M4 Update
A new report by Bloomberg indicates that Apple is reducing its stock of the current MacBook Air in preparation for a March 2025 refresh with the M4 processor. This aligns with earlier expectations of an early 2025 release, marking one year since the last model was launched.
Currently, base configurations of the MacBook Air are still available with a two-day shipping time in major US cities. However, models with more storage or RAM have delivery dates ranging from March 7 to March 11, suggesting a potential stock management strategy ahead of the new release.
The M4 processor, already used in the 2024 MacBook Pro, Mac mini, iMac, and iPad Pro, is expected to bring significant performance improvements. Recent benchmarks indicate that the new MacBook Air will have GPU performance on par with the iPad Pro. The overall design is expected to remain similar to the M3 version, but recent macOS code hints at an improved front-facing camera with an ultra-wide lens.
Notable features may include Center Stage, which keeps the user centered during video calls, and Desk View, allowing for a top-down view of the desk without moving the camera.
