Matter 1.4 Update: Expanding Smart Home Capabilities with New Device Types and Improved Cross-Platform Experience

Matter 1.4, the latest update to the Apple-backed smart home standard, has been released with a range of improvements. New device types supported include solar power, batteries, heat pumps and water heaters while new energy management features have been rolled out for electric vehicle chargers, thermostats, and more. In-wall smart switches now have their own category rather than being classed as lights which will enhance settings and automation. The update also introduces Enhanced Multi-Admin to make it easier to manage multiple devices across different platforms.
