Next-Gen iPhone 17 Series Set to Feature Custom Wi-Fi 7 Chips, Analyst Confirms

Analyst Repeats Rumor: Entire iPhone 17 Lineup to Feature In-House Apple Wi-Fi 7 Chips
March 18, 2025
Analyst Jeff Pu has reiterated a previous report by Ming-Chi Kuo that all models in the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup will feature Apple's custom Wi-Fi 7 chips. This follows the introduction of the C1 modem with the iPhone 16e in February 2025, which is rumored to be limited to the iPhone 17 Slim.
Kuo had previously suggested that Apple finalized the Wi-Fi 7 chip design in the first half of 2024, although he also noted a brief pause in development around the same time. Despite this, both analysts agree that the chips are ready for the fall 2025 iPhone lineup.
Given Kuo's strong track record with supply chain insights, this rumor is considered likely. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 series in September 2025.
