Nothing Phone (1) Receives Final Major Updates with Circle to Search and Enhanced Security Features
Nothing Phone (1) Gets Notable Update Including Google’s Circle to Search
The Nothing Phone (1) is receiving a significant update with version v3.0-250218-1552, which includes the February 2025 security patch and several new features. Key highlights include:
- Circle to Search: This feature allows users to initiate a search from any text, image, or video on their screen using long-press gestures. To enable it, go to
Settings > Special features > Gestures > Navigation mode > Circle to Search. - Power-off Password Verification: A new security layer that requires a passcode to turn off the device if it is lost, though this feature is not enabled by default.
- New Wallpapers: The update adds new wallpapers, although some users report not seeing these additions.
Additionally, the update includes general improvements such as enhanced stability for WiFi, Bluetooth, and the system, faster Settings response times, and optimized Quick Settings pull-down speed in landscape mode.
This is one of the final updates for the Nothing Phone (1), as it is nearing the end of its support period. The device received Android 15 earlier this year, which was the last major OS upgrade promised. With less than a year left for updates, users should expect fewer future enhancements.
