Obscure Developer Settings Linked to Android Auto Reboot Issues

A mysterious Android Auto reboot issue affecting some users was traced back to an obscure developer setting, with a potential fix already available.

Android Auto Reboot Issue Tied to Developer Settings

Recently, some users reported experiencing random reboots on their smartphones while using Android Auto. This issue was particularly tied to the 'Force Desktop Mode' setting in developer options. Users found that disabling this setting resolved the problem. The issue first appeared with Android Auto version 13.4, and downgrading to version 13.3 also fixed it for some users. Although an update to version 13.8 is rolling out, it appears that the fix lies in adjusting the developer settings rather than waiting for a software update.

Additionally, there have been more widespread issues with wireless Android Auto connectivity, which may or may not be addressed by the latest release.
