One UI 7 Simplifies Adding Apps to Galaxy Z Flip’s Cover Display, But Challenges Persist

One UI 7 Improves App Accessibility on Galaxy Z Flip Cover Display
Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip series has traditionally had limited app support on the cover display, with only a few apps working out of the box. This limitation is particularly noticeable when compared to competitors like Motorola’s Razr, which allows any app to run on its outer screen.
With One UI 7, Samsung is making it slightly easier for users to add more apps to the cover display, though the process remains somewhat cumbersome. The update introduces a new button that guides users to download Good Lock and install the MultiStar module, which are necessary steps to enable additional apps on the cover screen. This feature is available on both the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
While this change doesn’t fully resolve the usability issues, it does provide a clearer path for users who want more app functionality on their cover display. One UI 7 is currently in beta for the Galaxy Z Flip 6, with the stable rollout expected to begin in late April. The upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7 is rumored to feature a larger cover display, but it is unclear if there will be further improvements to app support on this screen.
