OnePlus Unveils the ‘Plus Key’: Is It Just an iPhone Knockoff or Something Revolutionary?

OnePlus unveils the 'Plus Key,' a customizable shortcut button that replaces the iconic Alert Slider, but its design bears an uncanny resemblance to iPhone’s action button.

OnePlus has announced the replacement of its iconic Alert Slider with a new shortcut button called the 'Plus Key.' Initially teased on the OnePlus 13s, the Plus Key allows users to customize various functions such as changing ringer modes, activating Do Not Disturb, opening the camera, turning on the flashlight, muting the microphone, using translation features, and taking screenshots. The UI for customizing these actions is similar to that of recent iPhones, though OnePlus has introduced its own software interface and emphasized the integration of AI to make the Plus Key more intelligent and adaptable. The feature will be available first on the OnePlus 13s (or 13T in China), which is not launching in the United States or Europe.
