Philips Hue Secure Doorbell Leaks Through iOS App: Smart Home Security Gets an Upgrade

A new Philips Hue Secure doorbell could be on the horizon after a surprising leak through the company’s iOS app reveals its existence.

Signify's Philips Hue line of smart home devices may soon expand to include a video doorbell. A leak via the company’s iOS app revealed the existence of a 'Hue Secure Doorbell,' which is likely to feature video capabilities, smart alerts, and end-to-end encryption. However, the device is expected to lack HomeKit support, similar to the existing Hue Secure Camera line. The doorbell will probably connect securely with Philips Hue's app but won’t integrate with Apple’s HomeKit or HomeKit Secure Video due to current limitations in Matter standards for security cameras. The product is anticipated to launch sometime in the fall.
