Pixel 'Enhance Now Playing' update rolling out with new features

The 'Enhance Now Playing' update for Pixel devices is rolling out, bringing album artwork and a default music player setting.

Google is rolling out an 'Enhance Now Playing' setting for Pixel devices that replaces the existing 'Show search button on lock screen' setting. When enabled, it will use Google Search to identify songs not recognized by the device and provide album artwork. The update also introduces a new 'Default music player' option in Settings, with options including YouTube, YouTube Music, Apple Music, and more. Tapping an identified song in the history list expands it to show a large 'Play on [service]' button. This feature is rolling out as a server-side update for Pixel 6 devices and newer, and requires the latest version (V15) of Android System Intelligence.
