Pixel Phones Receive Real-Time Scam Detection Feature

Google's Scam Detection technology listens for conversation patterns commonly associated with scams and alerts users if a call is likely to be fake, providing an extra layer of protection against fraudulent activity.

Live Scam Detection for phone calls is rolling out now to English-speaking Phone by Google public beta users in the U.S. with a Pixel 6 or newer device. Once enabled, it will listen for conversation patterns commonly associated with scams and provide an audio, haptic alert, and visual warning if a likely scam is detected. Scam Detection can be toggled off from settings. Meanwhile, Google Play Protect's live threat detection sends real-time alerts if stalkerware or other malicious apps are found on the device, by analyzing activity patterns of apps.
