Pixel Weather Updates Search Functionality, Ditches Auto-Save for Enhanced User Experience

Pixel Weather Update: Simplified City Search and View
A recent server-side update for the Pixel Weather app has introduced a change to how users search and view city weather information. Previously, the floating action button (FAB) on the homepage featured a plus sign, which automatically added cities to the user's list when searched. This behavior often led to a cluttered list of one-off locations that users rarely revisited.
In the new update, the FAB now features a magnifying glass icon, indicating a search-only behavior. When users tap on a search result, they can view the weather for that location without it being automatically saved. If they wish to save a city, they can do so by tapping the ‘plus’ sign in a pill-shaped button located on the right or in the top corner of the city view.
This update aims to streamline the user experience and reduce clutter. It is part of Pixel Weather version 1.0.20250127.729684887, which was released earlier this month and includes other improvements such as a 'Save' button for cities and the addition of dates to the 10-day forecast card.
