Rumor: iOS 19 May Drop Support for iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR

Rumor: iPhone XS and iPhone XR May Lose Support with iOS 19 A new rumor suggests that Apple will cut support for the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR in iOS 19. This contradicts a previous December rumor stating that Apple would not change its compatibility list. The same leaker also claims that the seventh-generation iPad will not be compatible with iPadOS 19.
If the rumors are accurate, the following devices will be supported:
- iOS 19: iPhone 17, iPhone 16, iPhone 15, iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11, iPhone SE 3, and iPhone SE 2.
- iPadOS 19: iPad mini 5 and up, iPad 8 and up, iPad Air 3 and up, all 11-inch iPad Pro models, 12.9-inch iPad Pro third-generation and up.
The leaker has been accurate in the past, making this rumor likely. However, it is unclear why Apple would drop support for A12 Bionic-equipped iPhones but not iPads with the same chipset.
Apple is expected to announce iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 at WWDC 2025 on June 9, with public releases in September following a summer beta period.
