Samsung Wallet's Digital Key Support Expands to Include Audi Vehicles

Samsung Wallet is expanding its Digital Key feature to include Audi vehicles, allowing users to unlock, lock and start their cars without a physical key through compatible Galaxy devices.

Samsung Wallet is expanding its Digital Key support for more vehicles, with the latest addition being Audi cars. Users are now able to unlock compatible Audi vehicles without needing a physical key — just their Samsung Wallet on certain Galaxy devices.

The feature has been available for some time and already supports other car manufacturers like Genesis, BMW, and Kia. According to Samsung's website, most Galaxy devices released in the past four years will be capable of supporting the new Digital Key functionality, including the latest Galaxy S24 Ultra.

In addition to unlocking and starting the car, users can also share digital keys with friends or family members for access. The trunk can also be opened through the app on some models. Samsung emphasizes that security is a top priority, with the key meeting EAL6+ standards and utilizing a UWB connection to shake hands securely with the vehicle.

Samsung will roll out Audi's Digital Key feature in Samsung Wallet to users this month for those in Europe, followed by a global rollout according to the launch timeline of Audi vehicles.
