Samsung's Galaxy Tab S10 and Tab A9 Drive Growth as Apple's iPad Stalls

The global tablet market saw shipments increase by 20.4% compared to the prior year, with a total of around 39.6 million units shipped in Q3 2024 alone. Samsung was the leader outside of Apple, though, with 7.1 million units shipped which represents 18.3% growth.

A new report from IDC reveals that the global tablet market saw shipments increase by 20.4% compared to the prior year, with a total of around 39.6 million units shipped in Q3 2024 alone. Apple still makes up the vast majority of the market with its iPad models shipping 12.6 million in the quarter, a 31.7% share, but it’s not growing very quickly, as growth slowed to a mere 1.4%. Meanwhile, various brands putting out Android tablets saw much bigger growth.
