Samsung's Galaxy Watch 8 Battery Size Barely Bumps Up, Leaks Hint at Looming Disappointment

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 may disappoint with a battery capacity that’s only slightly larger than its predecessor, according to recent certifications.

The upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 from Samsung may have a marginally larger battery compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch 6. Battery certifications obtained from SafetyKorea reveal that one of the models, likely part of the Galaxy Watch 8 series, has a typical capacity of 435 mAh and a rated capacity of 426 mAh. This is slightly higher than the 425 mAh battery in the Galaxy Watch 6 but significantly lower than the 590 mAh battery in the Galaxy Watch Ultra. It's unclear if this model is the base or Classic variant. The Classic edition has historically not been known for its strong battery life. Samsung plans to implement better energy technology in its wearables, but these improvements will only be available in 2027.
