Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and ‘Tri-Fold’ Get Titanium Hinge Upgrades; Flip 7 Left Behind

Samsung is set to enhance the hinge of its Galaxy Z Fold 7 and a rumored ‘tri-fold’ device with titanium, aiming for a thinner profile, while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will not receive these upgrades.

Samsung is planning to upgrade the hinge material in its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and a rumored 'tri-fold' device (likely called the Galaxy G Fold) by using titanium instead of stainless steel. This change aims to enhance strength while allowing for a thinner profile, particularly for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. However, these hinge upgrades will not be applied to the Galaxy Z Flip 7, as it is not expected to become thinner. The use of titanium in hinges was first introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold SE in the previous year. Samsung is set to launch its new foldables in July, although the 'tri-fold' device is expected to arrive later.
