Samsung’s One UI 7 Brings Cross-Device YouTube Controls Via Live Notifications

YouTube Adds Live Notifications on One UI 7 with Cross-Device Controls
Samsung has started rolling out its One UI 7 update, which includes a new feature: cross-device YouTube controls through Live Notifications and the Now Bar. This feature allows users to sync controls from one device to another when playing content, such as controlling YouTube playback on a TV using a Samsung phone.
The functionality was observed on an imported Galaxy Z Fold SE running One UI 7, where it worked without needing to cast content via Google Cast. The notifications also appeared while local playback was ongoing on the same device.
This feature is currently limited to the stable release of One UI 7 on older devices and is not yet supported on the Galaxy S25 series. However, a recent Google Play System Update has added some support for YouTube in the Now Bar on Galaxy S25, though without Live Notification capabilities.
Samsung is expanding the rollout of One UI 7 to more regions, including the US, starting April 10.
