Samsung's One UI Rolls Out to TVs with New Features and Google TV Integration

Samsung is now rolling out its One UI software design to some of its Tizen OS-powered smart TVs including 2023 models, ahead of schedule. The update includes a new homescreen 'For you' tab with personalized recommendations, and Watch Later list – both extremely similar to features already available on Google TV.

Samsung is rolling out One UI to its Tizen-powered TVs ahead of expectations, with updates already available for select models including those released in 2023. The update introduces a range of new features such as personalised recommendations on the homescreen 'For you' tab and a watch later list that echoes Google TV's functionality. Samsung has warned that some apps may not yet be compatible with the latest Tizen update, version 8.0. Users can choose to install the upgrade immediately when it arrives, when the television is off or select to do so ‘later’. The update brings the user interface on Samsung’s TVs closer in line with its Galaxy smartphones.
