Samsung's Tri-Fold Foldable: A New Era in Smartphone Innovation with Two Hinges and Dual Displays

Samsung is set to revolutionize the foldable market with a tri-fold Galaxy device featuring two separate displays, poised to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Report: Samsung’s Tri-Fold Foldable with Two Separate Displays to Launch alongside Galaxy Z Fold 7

Samsung is reportedly planning to debut a tri-fold foldable device alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7, taking a unique approach compared to competitors like Huawei. The new tri-fold phone will feature two hinges and two separate displays: an outer display of around 6.49 inches and an inner display of about 9.96 inches that can be unfolded in stages, similar to Samsung’s Flex G prototype shown at CES.

While the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have a single hinge with one external and one internal screen, the tri-fold device allows for multiple viewing modes. Unlike Huawei's Mate XT, which also offers several unfolding stages but exposes the inner display around the fold, Samsung’s design keeps the inner display protected. This could make the Galaxy tri-fold more durable and user-friendly.

Samsung has been a driving force in the foldable phone market, and this new device aims to push the boundaries further. However, details on the tri-fold's release are scarce, suggesting that Samsung is keeping its plans under wraps.
