‘Savage Planet’ Ad Roasts Google Stadia’s Downfall with Clever Billboard at GDC

Developers of 'Savage Planet' sequel take a humorous jab at Google Stadia's downfall with a clever new ad.

The developers of the 'Savage Planet' series are using their new ad for the sequel, 'Revenge of the Savage Planet,' to poke fun at the downfall of Google Stadia. The original studio was acquired by Google in 2019 but never managed to release any exclusive games for Stadia before the platform's shutdown. After regaining the IP, they formed a new studio called Racoon Logic and are now releasing their sequel on May 8, 2025. A billboard near GDC 2025 includes a humorous reference to Phil Harrison, who led Google Stadia. The ad also features a QR code leading to a donation page for a mental health organization.
