Siri's Major Upgrades Delayed: What You Need to Know About Apple's AI Enhancements

Upgraded Siri features, including personal context understanding and onscreen awareness, may be delayed until iOS 18.5 due to software bugs.

Apple's highly anticipated Siri upgrades, announced at the Worldwide Developer Conference last June, may not be fully ready for iOS 18.4 as initially planned. The new features, including Personal Context Understanding, Onscreen Awareness, and In-App Actions, aim to enhance Siri’s functionality by allowing it to better understand personal data, screen content, and execute actions across apps. However, due to software bugs, the release might be delayed or restricted until iOS 18.5, which is expected to launch in May. Apple employees testing the new features have reported inconsistencies, raising concerns about their readiness for the April release of iOS 18.4.
