Slim and Light: The iPhone 17 Air's Drastic Battery Trade-Off

iPhone 17 Air Battery Life Rumors
A recent leak claims the upcoming iPhone 17 Air will have a significantly smaller battery capacity of just 2,800mAh. This is notably lower than current models like the iPhone 16 (3,561mAh) and iPhone 16 Pro Max (4,685mAh). The rumors suggest that Apple has had to make compromises due to the phone's ultra-thin design, which will be just 5.5mm thick and weigh around 145 grams.
The leaker, known for mixed reliability, claims this information is based on a mass production-confirmed sample. To mitigate the reduced battery capacity, Apple may use advanced silicon-anode battery technology to increase efficiency by up to 15%. However, the low battery life has also sparked speculation about the potential return of the iPhone battery case, which could provide additional power for users who prioritize longer usage.
Given the thinness and lightweight design, it's plausible that Apple had to sacrifice battery size. The rumor aligns with other recent leak reports and is considered a possibility.
