Stay Safe On-the-Go: Google's Scam Detection Now Alerts Your Pixel Watch

Google has extended its real-time Scam Detection feature, initially launched for the Pixel 9, to the Pixel Watch 2 and 3. This new functionality alerts users to potential scam calls through vibrations, sounds, and on-screen notifications directly on their watch. The system leverages the Gemini Nano with Multimodality technology in supported Pixel phones to detect suspicious patterns in real-time, and it works via a Bluetooth connection between the phone and watch. The feature will beep at the start of a call and periodically if Scam Detection is enabled, and users can dismiss or end calls directly from their watch. Currently, this update is available in the US for English-language calls, and it requires the Scam Detection warnings to be enabled on the Pixel 9’s Phone app settings.
