Tata Takes Control of Pegatron's Sole iPhone Plant in India
Tata Electronics is reportedly buying a 60 percent stake in Taiwan-based Pegatron's only India iPhone facility, strengthening Tata's position as Apple's main supplier partner in the country.
Tata Electronics, an Indian company, is reportedly buying a 60% stake in Pegatron's only iPhone plant in India. The facility employs around 10,000 people and produces about five million iPhones annually, making Tata the primary supplier for Apple in the country. This acquisition will be Tata's third iPhone factory in India, following its previous buyout of a Wistron iPhone assembly facility.
