The current Google app on Android feels old and cobbled together. It's time for a modernization to bring the namesake application inline with everything else.

The Google app on Android is in need of a redesign according to the author of this article from 9to5Google. The addition of a 'Notifications' tab highlighted the outdated design and the lack of consistency compared to other first-party apps. The non-Material 3 bottom bar, large search bar, pill-shaped buttons, and carousels all contribute to a dated appearance. A modern update could bring the Google app in line with its contemporaries.
