Tim Cook Hints at New MacBook Air with M4 Chip: ‘There’s Something in the Air’

Tim Cook hints at an exciting new MacBook Air featuring the M4 chip, promising more power and flexibility for users.

New Apple Product Teaser by Tim Cook

In a social media post, Apple CEO Tim Cook hinted at the launch of a new product this week with the teaser "There’s something in the Air," strongly suggesting a new MacBook Air. The upcoming model is expected to feature an M4 chip, bringing significant upgrades including 32GB RAM (up from 24GB), faster memory bandwidth, additional CPU cores, and a 12MP Center Stage camera. Another notable improvement is enhanced support for external displays; the device will be able to power two external monitors while using its built-in display.

Alongside the MacBook Air, there are expectations for a new iPad Air this spring. While initial reports suggested that the MacBook Air would launch first, analyst Mark Gurman noted that a joint announcement of both devices is possible due to inventory issues with the current iPad Air.

The phrase "there’s something in the air" has historical significance for Apple, as it was used during the original MacBook Air launch in 2008.
