Inspired by the rhythm of humanity and in celebration of Black History Month, Apple has introduced a new Black Unity Collection that includes a special-edition Apple Watch Black Unity Sport Loop, a matching watch face, and iPhone/iPad wallpapers. The collection features the colors of the Pan-African flag—black, green, and red—in a unique design that dynamically shifts as the user moves their wrist.

Key Features:

  • Black Unity Sport Loop: Woven in a custom pattern with raised and recessed loops, creating a lenticular effect that transitions through green, red, and yellow.
  • Unity Rhythm Watch Face: Features custom numerals formed by intertwined threads of red, green, and yellow that coalesce into digits when the user raises their wrist. It also includes rhythmic chimes every hour and half-hour.
  • Unity Rhythm Wallpapers: For iPhone and iPad, featuring the word 'Unity' in custom lettering that changes orientation when the device is unlocked and locked.

Availability:

  • The Black Unity Sport Loop is available for order today on the Apple Store online for $49 (U.S.) and will be available in Apple Store locations starting this week. It is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 or newer, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Ultra (46mm band only).
  • The Unity Rhythm watch face and wallpapers will be available in an upcoming software update, requiring specific device models.

Community Support:

Apple is also supporting various global organizations focused on rhythm, creativity, and community, including the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music, Battersea Arts Centre, Music Forward Foundation, Art Gallery of New South Wales, and The National Museum of African American Music.
