  • Availability: Over 45 languages and more than 150 countries
  • Initial Preview: Made by Google 2024 in August

Overview: Gemini Advanced subscribers now have access to the ‘Deep Research’ feature, which is the first agentic capability from Google. This feature allows users to ask Gemini a research question, and it will create a multi-step plan that can be revised by adding more aspects to investigate.

Process:

  3. Execution: Upon approval and clicking ‘Start research,’ Gemini searches the web, finds relevant information, and iteratively refines its analysis.
  4. Results: A comprehensive report is generated with key findings organized into sections and headings. It includes sources, related content, and links to researched websites.

Features:

  • Comprehensive Report: Well-organized insights and a conclusion.
  • Export Options: Ability to export the report to Google Docs.
  • Time Efficiency: Takes a few minutes instead of several hours.

Initial Rollout:

  • ** Platforms**: Desktop and mobile web in English.
  • Model Selection: Choose ‘Use 1.5 Pro with Deep Research’ from the top-left model picker.
  • Mobile Availability: Expected to be available on mobile in early 2025.
