Unlock the Fun: How Android 15 Lets You Game on Your Car’s Display with Android Auto
Discover the surprising requirement for playing games on Android Auto: a phone running Android 15 or higher, and your car must be parked.
Android Auto Now Supports Gaming on Your Car’s Display
Google announced in March that users would be able to play select Android games on their car's display through Android Auto. Initial reports suggested the feature required the latest beta version of Android Auto (14.1), but Google clarified that this is not the case. The actual requirement is a device running Android 15.
Requirements for Playing Games on Android Auto:
- Android Version: Device must be running Android 15 or higher.
- Car Compatibility: Vehicle’s touch screen must support Android Auto.
- Safety: Games can only be played when the vehicle is in park.
Current Status:
- The feature is now rolling out to users with compatible devices and cars.
- Only a limited number of games are currently supported.
Additional Notes:
- Games will appear in the app drawer even if the car is in motion, but they will be blacked out until the vehicle is parked.
- This update also includes other changes to Android Auto, such as a new design and temperature controls.
