Unlock the Next Level of Gemini Live: How to Spot the New Update
New Gemini Live Update Begins Rolling Out
Google recently sent emails to Gemini Live users about an upcoming upgrade that aims to make conversations more dynamic and engaging. The update is now rolling out, enhancing the app's language capabilities and translation features. Notably, it supports a wider range of languages, including less common ones.
To check if you have the new update, open the profile menu in the Gemini Live app and navigate to Gemini Apps Activity. If you see actual audio recordings of your conversations instead of just text transcripts, you have the new version. Future updates will also include video and screenshares.
The update is not yet widely available, with reports primarily from Pixel 9 Pro XL users who have Gemini Advanced. However, Google has indicated that it will eventually be available to free users as well. The new version also offers a Multimodal Live API for developers, which can process text, audio, and video inputs and outputs.
Additional updates include an iPhone app redesign, a new 'Hey Gemini' hotword for Android, and the introduction of Imagen 3 people generation for free users.
