US Labor Watchdog Pauses Apple Cases After Trump's Nomination of Company’s Defense Lawyer

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has frozen two cases against Apple following the nomination of one of Apple’s defense lawyers, Crystal Carey, to head the NLRB by former President Trump. The cases were set to hear allegations that Apple illegally fired Janneke Parrish and Cher Scarlett, key figures in the #AppleToo movement, for organizing activities related to wage disparity and union efforts. These cases, along with other complaints against Apple for alleged illegal union-busting, have been postponed indefinitely pending a legal review by the NLRB’s head office. The appointment of Carey, who is listed as an attorney representing Apple, has raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest. Carey's nomination must still be confirmed by the Senate.
