US Senators Warn Trump: Tech Giants Face Massive Liability Over TikTok Ban

A group of US senators have written to President Trump warning him that his handling of the TikTok ban is leaving Apple, Google, and Oracle exposed to significant legal liability. The law in question requires TikTok to be sold to an American company until which it remains banned from being hosted or offered for download in the US. Despite this, Trump issued an executive order pausing enforcement of the law, but the senators argue that such action is unlawful and could expose these tech giants to fines up to $850 billion. They urge Trump to work with Congress to legally extend the deadline.
