Verizon’s Fios Fiber Expansion: 10 Million New Homes by Year-End

Verizon’s CEO reveals plans to bring fiber internet to 10 million new homes by the end of this year, expanding Fios service across the US.

Verizon is expanding its fiber internet service, Fios, through the acquisition of Frontier Communications in a $20 billion deal expected to close by the end of 2023 or early 2026. This expansion will add around 10 million new homes eligible for Fios, increasing Verizon's total reach to about 40 million homes with fiber access. Currently available primarily in the northeastern US, Fios will become accessible in approximately 30 states post-acquisition. The expansion aims to bring high-speed internet to more areas of the country, enhancing connectivity and customer satisfaction.
