Wear OS 5.1 Update Brings Troublesome Bugs and Delayed Notifications to Pixel Watch

Wear OS 5.1 update for Pixel Watch is causing delayed notifications and other bugs, frustrating users who have encountered issues even after factory resets.

Wear OS 5.1 Update Issues

The March 2025 patch for Pixel Watch devices brought the sizable Wear OS 5.1 update, ending a long period of no updates since November 2024. However, the update has introduced several bugs, with delayed or missing notifications being the most common issue reported by Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3 owners.

Other issues include watch face editing causing crashes, Fitbit syncing problems, and touch screen freezes. Despite a factory reset, these bugs persist, and a temporary workaround is to restart the device, which only provides a brief reprieve from the issues.

Google’s new update timeline for the Pixel Watch means that a fix could take months to roll out, although Google may expedite the process if enough users are affected. As of now, no official statement from Google has been made regarding these issues.
