Where Are They Now? The Fate of WWDC 2024's Most Anticipated Games

Explore the fate of high-profile games announced at WWDC 2024 for Apple devices, including delays and releases that made it just in time.

At WWDC 2024, Apple announced fourteen games set to come to macOS, iOS, and iPadOS before the next conference. However, as of March 2025, four titles are still unreleased: Assassin's Creed Shadows, Dead Island 2, RoboCop Rogue City, and Wuthering Waves. Assassin's Creed Shadows is now scheduled for a March 20, 2025 release on Mac, PC, and consoles after multiple delays. Dead Island 2 has received positive reviews but its macOS release date remains unacknowledged by developers. RoboCop Rogue City, initially released in November 2023 for other platforms, is still in development for macOS as of March 2025. Wuthering Waves is set to launch on March 27, 2025. On the positive side, ten out of the fourteen announced games have successfully made it to macOS by their scheduled release dates.
