Yale Unveils Smart Lock with Matter, Tailored for Google Home Ecosystem

Yale, in partnership with Google, has announced the new Yale Smart Lock with Matter, set to replace the Nest x Yale Lock from 2018. This lock is designed to complement Nest Doorbells, sharing similar aesthetics including a pill-shaped design and three finish options: Ash, Matte Black, and Snow. It features a circular keypad, built-in Matter over Thread technology for seamless integration with smart home platforms, and promises up to 12 months of battery life. Key capabilities include managing household access, editing passcodes, creating guest profiles, and receiving lock/unlock notifications through the Google Home app. The product is expected to be available later in summer 2023 at a price of $170.
