YouTube Premium Subscribers Unexpectedly See Ads, Despite Company's Assurance
Some YouTube Premium subscribers are reporting seeing ads despite paying for an ad-free experience, but YouTube says this should not be happening and that users should contact support if they encounter ads.
Several YouTube Premium users have reported seeing ads despite their subscription, which is meant to remove pre-roll and mid-roll advertisements from videos. One user shared an email from YouTube support that seemed to confirm this was intentional due to specific partnerships or limited-time offers. However, when contacted for comment by 9to5Google, YouTube representatives clarified that Premium subscribers should not be shown any ads of this nature and encouraged those affected to contact support.
