YouTube TV Expands Multiview Capabilities with Custom Views for Non-Sports Content
YouTube TV Introduces Custom Multiviews for Non-Sports Content
YouTube TV is rolling out a new feature that allows subscribers to create custom multiviews for non-live sports content, expanding the functionality beyond its initial focus on sports. This experiment will start with a small list of popular national channels like Bravo, ESPN, and USA, covering various genres of content. Over time, the list of available channels will grow to include local and other channels.
How to Access Custom Multiviews:
- Home Tab: Click into a multiview from the “Watch in multiview” or “Top picks for you” rows for personalized recommendations.
- Smart TV/Streaming Device: Start watching an eligible channel and tap down on your controller to find a multiview.
- Mobile Device/Tablet: Start watching an eligible channel and tap “Multiview” on the player to access it.
Upcoming Features:
- Always-On Multiview: A new feature that will include local ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC channels. This separate launch is expected to come sooner.
YouTube TV is also marking its 20th birthday with a TV app redesign and other new features.
