YouTube TV Faces Potential Loss of CBS and CBS Sports in Paramount Dispute

YouTube TV might lose Paramount content, including CBS and CBS Sports, if negotiations fail, impacting numerous channels across base and add-on plans.

YouTube TV has announced that negotiations with Paramount have failed, potentially leading to the removal of all Paramount content from its service, including popular channels like CBS and CBS Sports. This change will affect various Paramount-owned channels across different regions and add-ons. The loss of these channels is scheduled for February 13, 2025, and will also render DVR recordings of this content inaccessible. To compensate affected subscribers, YouTube TV will provide an $8 credit toward the standalone Paramount+ streaming service. Additionally, those with Entertainment Plus will receive a $10 discount on their bill, while users with Paramount+ with Showtime or BET+ will not be billed for these services and will receive refunds. YouTube TV is continuing negotiations to reach a fair agreement without increasing costs for subscribers.
