- As of February 13, YouTube TV subscribers continue to have access to Paramount channels, including CBS and their DVR recordings.
- The company is working towards a deal to keep this content available on the platform.
Original Update (February 12, 2025):
- YouTube TV has failed to reach an agreement with Paramount over content licensing.
- As a result, all Paramount content, including CBS and CBS Sports, could become unavailable after February 13, 2025.
- The affected channels include BET, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and others.
- Users will lose access to DVR recordings of these channels if the dispute continues.
Compensation for Subscribers:
- If content remains unavailable for an extended period, YouTube TV members will receive an $8 credit towards a standalone Paramount+ subscription.
- Entertainment Plus subscribers will get a $10 discount per bill while the content is unavailable.
- Those with Paramount+ with Showtime or BET+ subscriptions will not be billed and will receive automatic refunds.
Negotiation Status:
- YouTube TV emphasizes that it has been working to reach a fair agreement without increasing costs for subscribers.
- The company remains hopeful for a resolution and maintains that Paramount is an important partner.
