YouTube Unveils Widespread 'Podcasts' Tab on Android TV, Transforming Your Living Room into a Podcast Haven
Dedicated ‘Podcast’ Tab Now Available on YouTube for Android TV
YouTube has introduced a dedicated 'Podcasts' tab in its Android TV app, making it easier for users to access and discover podcast content. The new section is now widely available, sitting just below the 'Movies & TV' and 'Subscriptions' tabs.
While primarily intended for podcasts, the tab may also display longer music tracks or mixes. When selecting a podcast, users will not have any additional features specific to podcasts, such as time skips; they will simply view it like a regular video with chapters if added by the uploader.
Google’s recent figures show that YouTube has over 1 billion monthly podcast users and accounts for over 400 million listening hours on living room devices each month. This data highlights the growing importance of YouTube as a platform for podcast discovery and consumption.
