Microphotography of the A18 and A18 Pro chips used in Apple's iPhone 16 line reveals that they are not created through a chip binning process. Instead, Apple designs and produces two distinct chips for the A18 and A18 Pro. The A18 uses a 3-nanometer manufacturing process and has a straightforward layout with cores and elements clustered together. The A18 Pro also uses a 3-nanometer process but incorporates many more transistors than the A18, with lighter sections taking up more space on the die.
