Apple Pencil Could Detect Colors and Textures

The future Apple Pencil could detect colors and textures from real-world objects by tapping the tip against them.

Apple could be planning a real-world equivalent of the familiar eye-dropper tool in image apps, where a color could be set by an Apple Pencil tapping against it in an existing image. An on-board display on the pencil would show different colors and the tip could sense colors. Apple has been granted a patent for this technology but there is no guarantee that such an Apple Pencil will be launched.
