Apple is reportedly planning a major push into the smart home market starting in 2025, with a focus on its new Apple Intelligence platform. The strategy features three pillars: Apple Intelligence with a heavy Siri integration, homeOS (a software platform built on tvOS), and broader accessory compatibility via Matter.

A key aspect of this approach is to utilize AI for home automation, precise control of apps, devices, and media, and introduce an App Intents system that will allow Siri to manipulate features inside hundreds of apps.

Among the new products expected in 2025 are a smart display, designed for streaming TV+, FaceTime calls, web surfing, and app access, and a tabletop device focused on home security monitoring and advanced video conferencing. This latter product will be more expensive (around $1,000) and focus on media playback with high-quality audio.
